Leslie G. Wiser, Jr. Named Director of Security,
Prudential Center & Head of Government Relations

Served as Special Agent-In-Charge of the FBI in New Jersey

Newark, NJ – Devils Arena Entertainment, LLC, an affiliate company of the New Jersey Devils hockey team, today named Leslie G. Wiser, Jr. Director of Security, Prudential Center and Head of Government Relations.  The announcement was made by Jeffrey Vanderbeek, President and Chairman of Devils Arena Entertainment, LLC. “Providing a safe, secure, and enjoyable experience for Devils’ fans and other patrons of Prudential Center is my highest priority,” said Vanderbeek.  “To accomplish this, I have made a commitment to having the best talent both on and off the ice.  The addition of Mr. Wiser to our team furthers this goal.  He is acknowledged as a top security expert and is highly respected for his integrity, knowledge, experience, and common sense.”

Mr. Wiser has more than 23 years of service with the FBI and more than 27 years of law enforcement and intelligence experience.  Most recently, he was in charge of all FBI investigations and operations in 18 of New Jersey’s 21 counties.  The Newark Division, which Mr. Wiser led, is the FBI’s seventh largest field division, and one of its most productive.  It is a leader in combating terrorism, public corruption, corporate fraud, and gang investigations.

Mr. Wiser has been recognized among the FBI’s most accomplished executives. The Director of Central Intelligence awarded him the National Intelligence Medal of Achievement in 1994 when he led the espionage investigation of CIA officer and Russian spy Aldrich Ames.  In 2005 he was presented with the prestigious Director’s Award for Outstanding Investigation, for leading a counterintelligence investigation involving the penetration of the FBI’s Los Angeles office by the People’s Republic of China.  Last year the White House awarded Mr. Wiser the Presidential Rank of Meritorious Executive for 2006, placing him in the top five percent of all senior executives in the Federal Government.

Prudential Center is scheduled to open in October 2007 and will be the first major indoor professional sports and entertainment venue to be built in the metropolitan New Jersey/New York region in 25 years.  Highly accessible by bus, rail, or automobile, and bordering Newark’s famous Ironbound District, Prudential Center is a key component in the revitalization of Newark and will represent the ultimate destination for sports and entertainment fans.
