BC faces Mich St.; UND\'s Duncan takes Hobey

Michigan State huddled before its semifinal win over Maine on Thursday.

n
ewjerseydevils.com – Two teams will battle tonight with a championship on the line.

The Boston College Golden Eagles face the Michigan State Spartans for the 2007 NCAA Men's Division I Ice Hockey national title at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis on Saturday.

Gametime is 7 p.m. ET.

The Eagles extended their winning streak to 13 games on Thursday, using four goals in the third period to knock off seven-time national champion North Dakota, 6-4, in the Frozen Four semifinals.

The Spartans, meanwhile, rallied from a 2-0 deficit with four unanswered goals to pick off Maine, 4-2.

Each team has two previous national titles to its credit, with Boston College having won in 1949 and 2001, and Michigan State prevailing in 1966 and 1986.

In other NCAA men's ice hockey news, North Dakota sophomore Ryan Duncan was named the recipient of the 2007 Hobey Baker Award on Friday.

Duncan, who is undrafted, had 31 goals and 26 assists this season to lead the Fighting Sioux to their third consecutive Frozen Four.

The Calgary native was one of three Sioux to average at least a point per game, along with Jonathan Toews and T.J. Oshie. Duncan joins Tony Hrkac as the only two North Dakota players to have won the award.
