Brodeur was named the winner of the Vezina Trophy for most outstanding goaltender at the NHL's awards ceremonies Thursday night at Toronto's Elgin Theatre. It was the third Vezina for the Devil netminder, who has now received the honor in three of the last four seasons following back-to-back wins in 2002-03 and 2003-04.

The Montreal native won 48 games during the 2006-07 campaign to top Bernie Parent's single-season mark of 47 set in 1973-74. Brodeur posted a league-leading 12 shutouts to go with a 2.18 goals-against average and .922 save percentage, beating out a talented group of finalists that included Vancouver's Roberto Luongo, who recorded 47 wins in the regular season.

Calgary's Miikka Kiprusoff, who took the Vezina last season, and the Rangers' Henrik Lundqvist tied for third in the voting by the NHL general managers.

Brodeur also was named to the league's first all-star team, although his bid for the Hart Memorial Trophy as league MVP was stalled when Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby was named this year's winner.

Devils forward Jay Pandolfo's quest for his first Frank J. Selke Trophy came up just short, as Carolina's Rod Brind'Amour repeated as the league's top defensive forward.

In March, Brodeur was voted Most Valuable Devil by his teammates, while Pandolfo received both the Devils' Unsung Hero and Players' Player awards for the second consecutive season.
