FSN NY's summer-long series of weekly rebroadcasts of Devils games continues Wednesday night at 8 p.m. with New Jersey's 2-1 win over the Rangers on Feb. 20.
The contest represented the final Meadowlands visit for the Rangers, and a go-ahead goal from Zach Parise's 24th goal of the season ensured that the result would be a sweet one for the Devils.
Parise's tally broke a 1-1 tie at 12:06 of the third period, as the sophomore forward drew even with Brian Gionta for the team lead in goals. Martin Brodeur posted 35 saves to secure the victory.
The deciding goal developed after Parise picked up his own rebound and put a shot toward New York goaltender Henrik Lundqvist that deflected into the net.
"I just wanted make something happen," Parise said. "Lundqvist made a nice stop and I just tried to put it back on net. It was a lucky play."With the win, the Devils improved to 17-5-1 against the Atlantic Division, 35-11-4 against the Eastern Conference, and 22-6-4 at the Meadowlands.
