Devils Sign Three Players to AHL Contracts

newjerseydevils.com – The Devils have announced the signings of three players to American Hockey League contracts:  forwards Mark Pandolfo and Jason Paige;  as well as goaltender Dave Caruso.  The announcement was made by Lowell Devils General Manager Chris Lamoriello.  As per club policy, no further terms were disclosed.

Pandolfo, 24, re-joins the organization after spending 2006-07 with the ECHL’s Trenton Titans.  The 6-0, 195-lb. left wing recorded 19 goals and 15 assists for 34 points and 74 penalty minutes in 65 games last season.  Pandolfo made his pro debut during the 2005-06 season by appearing in eight games with the AHL’s Lowell Lock Monsters.  The cousin of New Jersey’s Jay Pandolfo, and Lowell’s Mike Pandolfo played four seasons at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell (2002-06), compiling 35 goals and 33 assists for 68 points and 81 penalty minutes in 136 games.  Pandolfo was born June 5, 1983 in North Andover, MA.

Paige, 23, joins the Devils after four seasons at the University of Notre Dame.  He recorded 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points and 32 penalty minutes while appearing in 42 games for the CCHA Champions last season.  Paige’s four seasons with the Fighting Irish show 29 goals, and 21 assists for 50 points and 163 penalty minutes in 154 games played.  He played his junior hockey for Compuware (NAHL).  The 6-0, 190-lb. Paige was born January 19, 1984 in Saginaw, MI.

Caruso, 25, will be entering his second year as a pro.  He spent the majority of the 2006-07 with Gwinnett (ECHL), recording a 23-11-4 mark, with one shutout and a 3.13 goals-against average.  The 6-1, 215-lb. netminder was signed as a free agent by Atlanta July 6, 2006.  He also appeared in one game with the AHL’s Chicago Wolves.  Caruso played four seasons at Ohio State University (CCHA), compiling 52-32-9 record, with 11 ShO and 2.07 GAA in 96 games.  He was born June 18, 1982 in Roswell, GA.
