Brodeur Grabs Win No. 40 on \'15 to Remember\'

After 21 saves in the game, Brodeur was perfect in the shootout for the sixth time in his career.

As the Devils extended their division lead, Martin Brodeur pulled even farther away from some of the game's goaltending legends.

This week's "15 to Remember" on FOX Sports Net New York (Wednesday, 8 p.m.) takes fans back to March 8 for New Jersey's 4-3 shootout win over the Penguins in Pittsburgh.

Brodeur made 21 saves to record victory No. 40 on the season, marking the sixth time he has hit the 40-win plateau. No other netminder in NHL history has had more than three 40-win seasons.

"Every time you win 40 games or get to these certain plateaus, they're pretty special," Brodeur said. "There's not many guys that are able to say that."

The milestone triumph also established Brodeur as the only goaltender in league history to have twice posted back-to-back 40-win seasons (also '99-00 and '00-01).

Andy Greene, Sergei Brylin, and Travis Zajac recorded the Devls' goals, setting up the game-deciding tally by team captain Patrik Elias in the shootout.

Brylin's goal stood out as one of the most memorable markers from the Devils' 25th Anniversary Silver Season, as the versatile forward was able to slip the puck past Penguins goaltender Marc André-Fleury while sliding past the crease.
