Devils Extend Lease at Lowell's Tsongas Arena
“We would like to thank the fans for their tremendous support during our first season,” said Lamoriello. “We look forward to continuing the relationship with the city of Lowell and our fans for the next three seasons and beyond.”
The option includes two additional seasons in which the AHL team will remain in the Mill City through at least 2009-10.
“The development of our young players with the Lowell Devils is vital to the success of our organization on every level,” said Lowell Devils General Manager Chris Lamoriello. “We take great pride in that development as they make the transition from the AHL to the NHL.”
“The fans have welcomed us to the community, and they are important to our long-term plans,” said Lowell Devils Executive Director Chris Ciceri. “We hope to bring them the same winning tradition that the organization has built in New Jersey over the past 25 seasons.”
For the second straight season, the New Jersey Devils will bring NHL action to Tsongas Arena, when they host the New York Islanders in pre-season action on Wednesday, September 26th.
