newjerseydevils.com – After becoming the seventh captain in Devils history, Patrik Elias went about producing a first-rate campaign in 2006-07.

In his debut season wearing the "C," Elias led the Devils with 48 assists and 69 points, while recording a fourth-best 21 goals in 75 games. The left wing, who played in his 600th career NHL game on Oct. 14, also proved potent on the power play, scoring a team-leading 31 points (8g-23a) with the man advantage.

Elias finished second on the club with 14 multiple-point games, and saw his productivity surge during a season-high, eight-game scoring streak from Nov. 27 to Dec. 14 in which he added five goals and eight assists for 13 points.

The postseason brought more milestones for the native of Trebic, Czech Rep., as he secured the top spot on the list of the Devils' all-time playoff scoring leaders, posting three assists in the series clincher against Tampa Bay to become the first player in team history to reach the 100-point plateau in his playoff career.

Elias' marker in game one of the Conference Quarterfinal against the Lightning moved him past Claude Lemieux for the all-time team lead in postseason goals (35), and his 16 career playoff goals is first all-time among Devils' forwards.

With the Devils now preparing for their inaugural season at Prudential Center, Elias' 2007-08 figures to be just as memorable.

New Jersey begins the season on Oct. 4 at Tampa Bay, before opening its home schedule against the Ottawa Senators on Oct. 27.
