Martin Brodeur has been named the Eastern Conference starting goaltender in the 2008 XM/NHL All-Star Fan Balloting. The reigning Vezina Trophy winner finished more than 45,000 votes ahead of second place, held by Henrik Lundqvist of the Rangers.
Brodeur has posted 21 victories this season to go with a 2.17 goals-against average, .918 save percentage and four shutouts. He grabbed career win No. 500 on Nov. 17 before recording a nine-game winning streak that is third longest in club history.
Now in his 14th season with the Devils, Brodeur is set to make his fourth All-Star appearance as a starter, and 10th overall. Brodeur's 10 career All-Star appearances ties him with Detroit's Nicklas Lidstrom for the most among this year's starting lineup.
