Clarkson scores in YoungStars Game; East claims SuperSkills

David Clarkson's goal in the 2008 YoungStars Game helped send the Eastern All-Stars to a 9-6 victory over the Western All-Stars in Saturday's SuperSkills competition in Atlanta.


EVENT 1 – OBSTACLE COURSE
Scoring: For each relay they team wil receive two (2) points for successfully stick handling through the pucks, one (1) point for each saucer pass that enters the net, one (1) point for each one-time attempt that hits the target in the net, and one (1) point for each goalie shot that enters the net. The team in each round that has the most points, receives one (1) goal towards the team’s overall score in the competition.

EVENT 5 - ACCURACY SHOOTING
Scoring: One goal is awarded to the team with most targets hit in fewest shots in the qualifying round.  If both teams have the same number of targets hit in the fewest attempts, then both teams will receive one (1) goal. One goal is awarded to the team of the shooter in the head-to-head challenge who has the most hits in the fewest attempts. If the two shooters are still tied after three (3) tiebreaker attempts, then each team will receive one (1) goal.

EVENT 6 – HARDEST SHOT
Scoring: The team with the best average score in mph, determined by using each participant’s highest recorded shot, will receive one (1) goal. The player with the highest recorded shot in mph will be deemed the individual winner and his team will receive one (1) goal. In the event of a tie, the player with the highest mph average will be declared the winner and have one (1) goal awarded to his team. If there is a tie in the average score of the teams, each team will be awarded one (1) goal.
