Devils acquire Bryce Salvador from St. Louis
“In Bryce Salvador, we have acquired a veteran NHL defenseman with good size and strength who plays a physical game,” Lamoriello said. “We look forward to the depth Bryce will bring to our roster.”
Salvador, 32, is in his seventh National Hockey League season, and 11th year as a pro. The 6-2, 220-lb. defenseman has one goal and 10 assists for 11 points and 43 penalty minutes in 56 games this season. He has career totals of 16 goals and 47 assists for 63 points and 413 penalty minutes in 447 games, all with St. Louis.
The native of Brandon, Manitoba added two goals and one assist in 36 career playoff contests. Salvador spent three seasons with the AHL’s Worcester IceCats prior to making his NHL debut in 2000-01. He was Tampa Bay’s sixth choice, and the 138th selection in the 1994 Entry Draft. Salvador played five seasons of junior hockey at Lethbridge (WHL).
Janssen, 23, is in his third NHL season, and fourth season as a pro. He saw action in three games with the AHL’s Lowell Devils this season.
