newjerseydevils.com – As one of just two 500-game winners in National Hockey League history, Martin Brodeur has already risen to tremendous heights within the league's record books.

But when the NHL's 2008-09 season gets underway in October, Brodeur will need just 14 victories to surpass Patrick Roy's all-time mark of 551 and become the winningest goaltender in league history.

In preparation for Brodeur's historic chase, MSG Plus visited Prudential Center on Thursday to sit down with the netminder and get his reflections on his milestone-studded career.

Host Steve Cangialosi took Brodeur from the 1990 Entry Draft in Vancouver to his 500th career victory last season, while revisiting wins No. 100, 200, 300 and 400 along the way.

"I was anxious to get it done and put it behind me," Brodeur said of reaching the 500-win plateau. "It took me a few games, and when I finally got it done it relieved a lot of pressure."

The interview will anchor an eight-part series called "Marty's Milestones" that is set to premiere later this year on MSG Plus. The Devils' television broadcast home will incorporate Brodeur's one-on-one with Cangialosi into two-hour episodes featuring condensed versions of Brodeur's most memorable games.

The four-time Vezina Trophy winner shares his thoughts on following father Denis' footsteps as an Olympic ice hockey medalist for Team Canada, and reveals what was written in the note handed to him by Bernie Parent after posting his record 48th win in 2006-07.

Fans can also look forward to finding out whether Brodeur believes a 60-win season might be attainable someday for an NHL goaltender.

Brodeur and the Devils open their regular season at home against the New York Islanders on Friday, Oct. 10.
