Salmela assigned to Lowell, Leach recalled

newjerseydevils.com – The Devils made a pair of moves on the blueline Wednesday, assigning defenseman Anssi Salmela to Lowell (AHL) and recalling defenseman Jay Leach.
Salmela, 24, has three assists in 15 appearances with New Jersey this season. He recorded his first-career multi-point game with two helpers against Tampa on Nov. 23. The Finnish rookie returns to New Jersey's AHL affiliate for the second time. He had two assists for Lowell in seven games from Oct. 17 to Nov. 1.
Leach, 29, returns to New Jersey for the third time this season. The native of Syracuse, N.Y., has one assist in four appearances with the Devils, and a goal and two assists in 17 contests with Lowell.
