Parise takes NHL\'s First Star honors

newjerseydevils.com – Devils' left wing Zach Parise has been named the NHL's 'First Star' for the week ending Feb. 15, it was announced Monday.

Parise led the NHL in scoring for the week with eight points (four goals, four assists) as the Devils (37-17-3) recorded four consecutive victories and increased their Atlantic Division lead to eight points.

He notched two goals in a 3-0 victory over the New York Rangers Feb. 9, tallied four points (two goals, two assists) in a 4-2 win over the New York Islanders Feb. 11 and notched a pair of assists in a 6-5 win over the San Jose Sharks Feb. 15.

Parise is tied for second in the NHL goal-scoring race with a career-high 34 and ranks fifth in points with 69.

Second and Third Star honors went to Calgary's Matthew Lombardi and Atlanta's Ilya Kovalchuk.
