Brodeur special, NHL Network, tonight, 7 ET
"Brodeur: A Winner Above All" is the most comprehensive special ever produced by the NHL Network. Narrated by NHL Network’s John Wells and shown in HD, the show features commentary on Brodeur’s career from current and former members of the Devils organization including President/CEO/General Manager Lou Lamoriello, goaltending coach Jacques Caron, former Devils coaches Larry Robinson and Jacques Lemaire and former teammates including Scott Stevens, John MacLean, Ken Daneyko and Bruce Driver. Hockey legends such as Wayne Gretzky, Mike Richter, Brian Leetch, Ron Hextall and Patrick Roy also share their thoughts on Brodeur.
The special will take viewers throughout Brodeur’s entire career, beginning with a glimpse into his childhood as the son of legendary Montreal Canadiens photographer Denis Brodeur Sr., and how growing up around the game shaped his future. Viewers will learn that Brodeur almost quit hockey as a teen, but was coaxed back to the ice by his older brother, Claude.
Also covered in "Brodeur: A Winner Above All" is Brodeur’s relationship with his New Jersey goaltending coach Jacques Caron, his Olympic triumphs and disappointments, and the Devils’ three Stanley Cup championships.
