Eckford recalled; Murphy assigned to Lowell

Eckford, 24, is tied for second on Lowell's scoring list with 15 points (5g-10a) in 18 games, and fourth in the AHL among defensemen.
He was named the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Nov. 15, 2009, after notching two goals, five assists and a plus-6 rating in three games. Lowell tied a franchise record by extending their winning streak to five games.
The 6-1, 200-lb., Vancouver native was New Jersey's fifth choice, 217th overall, in the 2004 Entry Draft, and was signed by the club on March 18, 2008.
Murphy, 31, has tallied two goals and one assist in 11 games this season with New Jersey. He was assigned to Lowell on Oct. 20 after clearing waivers, and was recalled on Oct. 26. after collecting two assists in four AHL games.
