During the second period of Friday's meeting with Tampa Bay, half of Prudential Center's arena lights went dim, causing a significant delay that began at roughly 8:15 p.m. ET.

The outage occurred just before a neutral zone faceoff with 9:12 to go in the middle frame. As Rod Pelley and Zenon Konopka skated to the dot, the lights dimmed above the Devils' end of the ice.

After 10-15 minutes of skating around to stay loose, both teams returned to the locker rooms while crews worked to restore power. Zambonis began resurfacing the ice at approximately 9 p.m. ET.

The Devils trail 3-0 on goals by Steve Downie, Brandon Bochenski and Steven Stamkos.

UPDATE 9:21 p.m.: An attempt was made to restore lights at 9:21 p.m., but the same end of the rink remained dark.

UPDATE 9:30 p.m.: Lit end of the arena lowered back to intermission lighting. Stamkos sitting on boards at Lightning bench. No Devils players are out on the bench.

10 p.m.: Tampa end of the arena has remained lit, while Devils' end is still dark. Group of Lightning players including Stamkos and Ryan Malone has left the bench to return to the locker room.

10:02 p.m.: Ice crew removing nets from the ice. Awaiting word on status of the game.

10:04 p.m.: MSG broadcast indicating game has been suspended. Nets remain on the ice near the Zamboni entrance.
