2010 New Jersey Devils/NJSIAA High School Ice Hockey Championships Set
Three Championship Games, Presented by Prudential, Set for Saturday, March 13
This marks the 13th year that the National Hockey League team has hosted the high school championships and during that time the number of varsity high school ice hockey programs has increased from 80 to 161. For the first time in its history, the event is presented by Prudential.
The three games are set as follows: Public B Championship (1:00 PM), Public A Final (3:00 PM), and Non-Public Championship (5:00 PM). The six participating teams will be announced following the state semifinals, which are set for March 9-10.
A record 84 schools, including 66 Public and 18 in the Non-Public bracket, are participating in this year’s tournament. Ramsey (Public B), Morris Knolls (Public A), and Delbarton School (Non-Public) all entered the tournament as the number one seed in their respective brackets.
Last season, Ramsey defeated Kinnelon, 2-0, in the Public School B Championship; Randolph defeated Ridge, 1-0, in the Public School A Final; while Delbarton School defeated Christian Brothers Academy, 7-0, in the Non-Public School Championship.
Tickets are now on sale at the Prudential Center box office and are priced at $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students.
