For the first time ever, the New Jersey Devils invited fans to participate and star in the game opening video shoot which took place on Friday, Sept. 24.

Over 100 fans attended to show their support and spread some enthusiasm in a video that will debut on Opening Night, Oct. 8, against the Dallas Stars and play every home game right before the national anthem.

“It was a blast. I had a great time,” said Barbara Fisk of Middlesex, NJ. “I’m glad the Devils are doing more to keep the fans involved. I am so looking forward to the season.”

During the shoot, members of Devils Army staged crowd reactions in the seats and reenacted entering the stadium on a game night.

“It was really fun,” said Brian Maw of Caldwell, NJ, who also took his son Kyle. “Anything with the Devils we love. Being able to see ourselves on the screen is going to be real exciting.”

This unprecedented event for the Devils is a part of a Devils initiative to bring the fans closer to the team than ever before. The Devils also executed the Jersey Tour, a campaign in which Devils alumni and ownership made 12 stops across the state to greet supporters of Jersey’s Team.

“I like the aggressiveness of the Devils,” said George Knorr, a season-ticket holder since the team’s move to New Jersey in 1982. “The team isn’t just advertising, they’re going out there and meeting the fans.”

As for the team on the ice, the fans are optimistic and enthusiastic about this upcoming season.

“I’m excited and really looking forward to the year,” Knorr said. “As always, I think we’re going to be competitive.”
