Devils host Women in Hockey Night
U.S. Olympic Athletes Shelley Looney and Jenny Potter will appear at the Prudential Center as a part of Women in Hockey Night on Saturday, Oct. 23 when the Devils take on the Buffalo Sabres at 7 p.m.

Both players will appear on the main concourse during the first intermission. Fans can meet them, take pictures and get an autograph from these Olympic stars.

Shelley has two Olympic medals and Potter has three. Both were a part of the 1998 Gold Medal team. Shelley scored the game-winning goal in the Gold Medal game that year.

The appearances at the Prudential Center will follow Girls’ Hockey Day in Atlantic, a try hockey for free event for girls, ages four to ten, to experience ice hockey and learn the basics of the sport in a fun, safe environment. Potter will be at Floyd Hall Arena at Montclair State University from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The game on October 23 will also be Hockey Fights Cancer Night. Proceeds from the Mystery Puck promotion will go to cancer-related charities. Other proceeds generated from the night will also be donated.

A team calendar, sponsored by The Record, will be given to all fans in attendance.
