Coat Drive set for Saturday, Dec. 11
Devils host Detroit at 7 p.m.
Volunteers from Jersey Cares will be located at the PNC Bank and South Towers, the Lafayette Street and VIP entrances, and the Ford Lincoln-Mercury Garage entrance to collect the coats. The wives/girlfriends of Devils' players will also be on hand to assist. Fans making a donation will be eligible to win autographed Devils' memorabilia. Following the collection, the coats will be distributed by Jersey Cares to more than 200 non-profit agencies in New Jersey including shelters, social service organizations, senior citizen centers, and schools.
The following morning, more than 200 Jersey Cares volunteers will gather at Prudential Center for the 15th annual Jersey Cares Coat Drive sort-off. Teams of volunteers will help to sort through the coats received during Friday's game and distribute them to partner agencies in the surrounding community. Over the past 14 years, Jersey Cares has collected, sorted and distributed thousands of winter coats to New Jersey residents in need through this program.
