Urbom recalled from Albany (AHL)
No White, Fayne at Tuesday's morning skate.
Head coach Jacques Lemaire hopes his team stays hot coming out of the break after opening the second half 6-1-1.
"It will be interesting to see where they’re at right now, how they’re going to play," Lemaire said this morning. "This is one thing we talked about. It’s important to keep playing as a team, play the best we can."
Rookie defenseman Alexander Urbom was recalled from Albany (AHL) under emergency conditions and took part in today's morning skate.
It's the second recall for the 20-year-old, who's still looking for his first point after seven appearances this season. He wore No. 33 and was paired with fellow Swede Henrik Tallinder.
The Devils' third-round pick in 2009, Urbom made the team out of training camp before being assigned to Albany on Oct. 18. He was recalled under emergency conditions on Nov. 5 for a game against the Rangers, then sent down the next day.
Urbom leads Albany defensemen with 13 assists and 14 points in 40 games.
The Devils are shorthanded on the blueline. Colin White (lower body) has missed the last two games. He did not practice yesterday and did not skate this morning. Mark Fayne (sick) also missed yesterday's practice.
• Patrik Elias, the Devils' lone representative at this year's All-Star Game, skated yesterday morning after having the day off yesterday.
• Adam Mair dressed as a defenseman this morning, but Lemaire said he would not consider putting Mair, a center, on defense.
