Rolston on a roll
Enjoying best stretch since re-signing with Devils in 2008
|Rolston has nine goals and 12 assists in 40 games.|
After clearing waivers twice in December, he's feeling pretty good these days. He added a goal and an assist Wednesday and now has seven goals and nine assists in his last 16 games.
When's the last time the former 30-goal scorer has felt this confident?
"Probably back in Minnesota, to be quite honest with you," Rolston said. "I think ever since I came back, Jacques has given me a great opportunity to play on a top line and shown confidence in me and my penalty kill and power play. That gives me confidence as a player. I’m happy to be producing, relieved to be producing and it feels real good."
Jacques Lemaire had Rolston for three straight 30-goal campaigns with the Wild. His decision to use Rolston with Patrik Elias and Dainius Zubrus has paid major dividends.
"I knew that Rollie had to play with players that will complement his work," Lemaire said. "Patrik is one of them. Zubie, the way he’s playing, he’s a player too that complements him because he works so hard, he gets in corners, he controls the puck, holds on to it, doesn’t throw it away."
