New York – September 21, 2011 – For the first time in a decade and a half, Glenn ‘Chico’ Resch will have a new partner in the New Jersey Devils television booth. MSG Networks announced today that Steve Cangialosi will team-up with Resch on MSG Plus, replacing long-time Devils play-by-play man Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, who retired from the position in the offseason.

MSG Networks also announced that Deb Placey will replace Cangialosi as the Devils host and rinkside reporter. In addition, Resch will return for his 16th season as the Devils color announcer and former New Jersey great Ken Daneyko will return as the studio analyst.

“Steve is an experienced play-by-play man and we are confident he will continue to do the same great work in this new role that he’s done for the past six years on MSG Plus,” said Dan Ronayne, executive vice president and general manager, MSG Networks. “Deb has been an integral part of our hockey coverage for over a decade and we know that success will carry over to the Devils’ telecasts.”

“We congratulate Steve Cangialosi on his new position, while at the same time welcome Deb Placey to New Jersey,” said Devils’ President/CEO/General Manager Lou Lamoriello. “Both individuals have experience, as well as an identity not only in our local market, but on a national hockey level. Our fans will enjoy watching and listening to Steve and Deb, as they join Chico Resch and Ken Daneyko on Devils/MSG Plus broadcasts.”

“It’s an honor to be given the opportunity to follow one of the great broadcasters of all time,” said Cangialosi. “Doc formed a very special bond with Devils’ players and fans for 21 seasons through his excellence in the booth and his wonderful approach to people. The Devils are a first-class organization, and I hope to represent the team and the great tradition of NHL hockey on MSG Networks as best as I can.”

“The Devils are a young and exciting team, and I cannot wait to get started,” said Placey. “The team has a rich history and three Stanley Cups, and I’m honored to call ‘The Rock’ my new home.”

A native New Yorker, Cangialosi joined MSG Networks in 2000 and hosted a number of programs before starting his role as host and reporter for the Devils in 2006. Cangialosi is also the play-by-play announcer for the New York Red Bulls on MSG Network.

Placey is a 16-year veteran of MSG Networks and an experienced NHL reporter, having spent the previous ten seasons covering the New York Islanders. She has also hosted additional shows on MSG Network and MSG Plus, including the weekly comprehensive hockey program “HOCKEY NIGHT LIVE.”

MSG Networks opens its Devils telecast schedule with a preseason game on Friday, September 23 as New Jersey hosts the New York Rangers at 7:00 p.m. The Devils start regular season play Saturday, October 8 at 7:00 p.m. on MSG Network versus the Philadelphia Flyers. MSG Network, MSG Plus and MSG Plus 2 will telecast a total of 75 regular season Devils games this season. A full schedule is below.

MSG Networks continues its unprecedented commitment to the NHL as MSG Network and MSG Plus combine to telecast more than 300 live Rangers, Devils, Islanders and Buffalo Sabres games during the 2011-2012 hockey season.
