Brodeur leaves game after first period
Martin Brodeur was injured in the first period of tonight's game against Los Angeles and left the game with upper body soreness.

Brodeur made a flurry of saves with just over eight minutes remaining in the frame, including a diving stop to his right. He went to the bench for a visit with the team trainer during a stoppage with 7:57 to go, but would finish the period.

He allowed just one goal on 11 shots. Backup Johan Hedberg entered to start the second.
