AmeriHealth New Jersey Partners with New Jersey Devils on Youth Initiatives

Newark, N.J. – The New Jersey Devils and AmeriHealth New Jersey are joining forces to help children in New Jersey through youth hockey, one of the fastest growing youth sports in the country. This first of its kind program includes providing tools to keep players safe on the ice to giving them the ultimate playing experience at Prudential Center. This partnership solidifies both organizations’ commitment to New Jersey and the children residing in the State.
“To have AmeriHealth New Jersey increase their involvement with the New Jersey Devils and the youth hockey community in the state speaks volumes to our relationship,” said Jeff Vanderbeek, Chairman and Managing Partner of the New Jersey Devils. “Their commitment to the children of New Jersey echoes the efforts of the New Jersey Devils. They have also designed and provided 500 First Aid kits that have been distributed to youth hockey and high school coaches throughout the state via the New Jersey Youth Hockey League and the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association. New Jersey Youth Hockey Central presented by AmeriHealth New Jersey is the first website by a National Hockey League club to fully host high school and youth hockey entirely on its website. Scores, stats, and standings for more than 300 high school and youth hockey teams and their 6,000 players will be featured.
In addition to holding the naming rights to the Devils practice facility, AmeriHealth Pavilion, this new initiative gives AmeriHealth New Jersey title sponsorship on a number of important initiatives focusing on aspects of youth hockey. All pre-season Devils games had tickets that were available at discounted rates for any youth hockey players courtesy of AmeriHealth. The AmeriHealth Marquee Match Up occurs during the first intermission of all Devils games where youth hockey teams from the local area have the opportunity to play on the Prudential Center ice. AmeriHealth Pavilion is also the home ice rink to a number of local youth hockey programs.

The New Jersey Devils are a member of the 30-team National Hockey League. Established in 1982, the Devils are currently celebrating their 30th Anniversary season in the Garden State. In 2007-08, “Jersey’s Team” moved into its new home, Newark’s Prudential Center.
