With the help of “Drop-A-Ton” sponsor and partner - the New Jersey Devils - more than 150 challengers “liked” us on Facebook. “Drop-A-Ton” participants pledged a cumulative weight loss of over 1,200 pounds – not quite to our goal of one ton, but a great effort.
Township Mayor John E. McCormac and the Mayors Wellness Campaign will donate the full ton - $2,000 - to the Woodbridge Township “We Feed” Committee to further assist Township food pantries provide food for the holiday’s. “Drop-A-Ton” participants have until Nov. 30, 2011 to post their weight loss statistics, so let’s get the numbers on the board!!
The New Jersey Devils played a key role in furthering the goals of the Woodbridge “Drop-A-Ton” challenge and as a result, more than 200 “Drop-A-Ton” participants and members of the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign signed-up to attend the premier Woodbridge “Drop-A-Ton” night at the Devils vs. Columbus game at the “Pru” on Wed., Nov. 23. A hearty “Drop-A-Ton” thanks to the NJ “Devils” team and front office for their encouragement and support of the Woodbridge “Drop-A-Ton” campaign.
Even though the official “Drop-A-Ton” campaign is over, it’s not too late for Woodbridge residents and Devils fans to sign-on to a fit and healthy lifestyle. “Friend” us on “Drop-A-Ton” Facebook where Woodbridge Township residents and future “Drop-A-Ton” participants can continue to support one another in the mission to “get fit” and skate toward a healthier lifestyle.
