**UPDATE: Bryce Salvador has confirmed he will play tonight after tweaking his ankle Tuesday.
Bryce Salvador did not take part in today's morning skate, but is expected to play tonight when the Devils host Montreal.
"He's a little sore, but nothing that should keep him out tonight," coach Peter DeBoer said of Salvador, who did not practice yesterday.
Martin Brodeur will make his seventh straight start as the Devils look to build off of Tuesday's 4-3 shootout win over the Rangers. They're hoping to close out their six-game homestand (2-2-1) on a high note before a pair of divisional 1 p.m. matinees: Saturday at Philadelphia and Sunday vs. Pittsburgh at the Rock.
Adam Henrique (groin) skated on his own this morning, but will miss his second straight game.
The road team has won the first two meetings of the series against Montreal. The Canadiens took a 2-1 decision at Prudential Center on Dec. 10, and the Devils responded with a 5-3 triumph at the Bell Centre on Dec. 17.
DeBoer hopes to reverse that trend tonight.
"When we look back at the tape of the game when we played them here last time, I think we played a decent game," he said. "We didn't get to [Carey] Price, a lot like we didn't get to [Henrik] Lundqvist or [Ilya] Bryzgalov the last time we played those teams. It's kind of the same formula for us. We have to find a way to score some goals, get some traffic on the visiting goalie, and make it uncomfortable on him."
DeBoer also indicated he may dress seven defensemen tonight.
