The New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced last night that MSG received 14 New York Emmy Awards and, for the third year in a row, collected the most Emmys awarded to a single network or station in the New York region.

MSG+ and New Jersey Devils announcer Steve Cangialosi captured two Emmy Awards by winning the On-Camera Talent: Sports Play-by-Play category and the On-Camera Talent: Anchor – Sports category.

Combined with two wins for MSG+, MSG Networks totaled 16 wins. The New York Emmy Awards recognize television and advanced media programs that were produced for telecast in New York state and northern New Jersey, and aired between September 1, 2010 and August 31, 2011.

Over the past five years, MSG has won 69 New York Emmy Awards, more than any single network or station in the region during that time, while the MSG Media group, which includes MSG, MSG+ and MSG.com, has totaled 79 wins. Combined, MSG and MSG+ have won 180 Emmys over the history of the two networks.

“MSG Media is thrilled to receive 16 New York Emmy Awards, which recognizes our leadership position in content creation,” said Michael Bair, president, MSG Media. “We are committed to providing the highest quality programming to our audiences, and to be recognized in a broad range of categories in sports and entertainment is a testament to the depth and talent of our outstanding people.”
