NEWARK, N.J. -- New Jersey Devils General Manager Lou Lamoriello said Monday that he expects to have two new assistant coaches in place by the end of the week.

Lamoriello lost former assistant coaches Adam Oates and Larry Robinson during a 13-day span earlier this month. Oates left to become head coach of the Washington Capitals and Robinson took over as an associate coach with the San Jose Sharks.

"We'll have the assistants decided sometime during this week," Lamoriello said following the opening day of the organization's development camp at AmeriHealth Pavilion.

When asked if the coaches would come from within the organization, Lamoriello said: "Sometime during this week … you'll know."

Lamoriello did say head coach Peter DeBoer would be joining development camp Wednesday.

Albany Devils head coach Rick Kowalsky was running the show at camp Monday with the assistance of special assignment coach Scott Stevens, former Devil Sergei Brylin and goaltending coaches Chris Terreri and Jacques Caron.

Lamoriello wouldn't tip his hand when asked if Brylin was a potential candidate to assist DeBoer for 2012-13. Additionally, Lamoriello wouldn't rule out the possibility of adding to his player roster before the start of training camp in September.

"If we can make a transaction that makes us better, we will," Lamoriello said. "The CBA or salary cap will have nothing to do with what we're doing. There's always uncertainty. Everything is status quo right now. You're always trying to get better, but that goes on 12 months a year. Right now, we are who we are."
