Newark, NJ—During the New Jersey Devils’ run to the Stanley Cup Final this spring, the team enjoyed record attendance from their fans. Devils’ supporters also made their Jersey’s Team pride show by helping give back to the children. Over the course of two months and four hard-fought rounds of hockey, the New Jersey Devils, with the help of their dedicated fans of the Devils Army, raised a record $68,000 for the team’s Devils Care foundation.

“We’re proud of the success Devils had on the ice, and we’re gratified by how many of our fans responded in helping raise money for Devils Care,” said Jeff Vanderbeek, Chairman and Managing Partner New Jersey Devils. “These funds will be distributed throughout the community, helping children here in New Jersey who need the additional support and assistance.”

For the first time, the team offered fans the opportunity to bid on the ultimate in Devils playoff hockey experiences. These six unique auctions featured premium seats to experience the action, Devils merchandise and even airfare and hotel accommodations for a Stanley Cup Final game in Los Angeles.

"The night was nostalgic since my father has been taking me to games since I was a kid. There are several reasons it meant a lot to have him there with me at the Stanley Cup Final. We were able to reminisce about other games we attended together and do it in style. It was something special,” said Don Angelini of Cherry Hill, N.J., a proud Devils fan and the winner of the Stanley Cup Final Game 5 raffle.

Devils Care, the charitable foundation of the New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center, has a mission to positively impact the lives of children and adults in New Jersey. The foundation focuses on education and health and wellness programs with a proven track record in the State that benefit New Jersey residents. Devils Care was created to support the efforts of “Jersey’s Team” to more deeply connect with the team’s passionate fan base, who not coincidentally are passionate about New Jersey as well.
