ALBANY, N.Y. – The American Hockey League released the Albany Devils 2012-13 schedule, which begins at the Times Union Center on Saturday, Oct. 13 against the Manchester Monarchs at 5:05 p.m. Thirty-one of the Devils home games will be played during the weekend: nine Friday matches, 12 Saturday contests and 10 Sunday games.

Boardwalk Hall

The New Jersey Devils have scheduled four AHL Devils games at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall, which hosted four AHL contests during the 2010-11 season and was the site of the 2012 AHL All-Star Classic. The team will face Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (Nov. 25), Bridgeport (Jan. 13), Adirondack (Jan. 20) and Hershey (Feb. 24) at Boardwalk Hall.

Saturday & Sunday Matinees

Including the home-opener, the Devils will host nine Saturday matinee contests. Games against Syracuse (Nov. 24), Bridgeport (Dec. 8), Springfield (Jan. 5 and Mar. 9), Worcester (Jan. 12), Binghamton (Apr. 13) and Norfolk (Apr. 20) will begin at 5 p.m. An outing against Adirondack (Jan. 26) will start at 2 p.m. and precede a college hockey matchup between Union College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Nine of Albany’s Sunday home games take place after the New Year. Matches against Binghamton (Feb. 17), Adirondack (Mar. 10 and Apr. 21) and Rochester (Apr. 14) are at 3 p.m. Contests against Binghamton (Jan. 6), Bridgeport (Jan. 13), Adirondack (Jan. 20), Hershey (Feb. 24) and Rochester (Apr. 7) begin at 4 p.m.

Holiday Mondays

The team will play a pair of Monday 2 p.m. games on Veterans’ Day (observed) and Presidents’ Day. Albany faces Norfolk on Nov. 12 and Syracuse on Feb. 18.

Stretches
Albany’s longest homestand comes at the end of the season with five-straight games at the Times Union Center between Apr. 13-21, featuring Binghamton, Rochester, Connecticut, Norfolk and Adirondack. The Devils will participate in two season-high six-game road trips between Feb. 1-10 and Mar. 15-24. The first features games at Providence, Portland, Connecticut, Springfield, Syracuse and Binghamton, while the second includes a pair of outings at Syracuse and Bridgeport and single contests at Rochester and Binghamton

Common Opponents
Under the league’s scheduling matrix, Albany will face Northeast Division opponents Adirondack 12 times and Bridgeport, Connecticut and Springfield six times. Eight games against Binghamton and Syracuse make those two teams the Devils second-most common opponents.
