Third hat trick pads Boucher\'s OHL goals lead

Reid Boucher notched his third hat trick of the season on Sunday to lead Sarnia (OHL) to a 5-2 win over Kingston. It capped a five-goal weekend for Boucher, who struck twice for the Sting in their meeting with Ottawa on Friday. Boucher leads the OHL in goals (45) and power-play goals (16), and ranks sixth overall with 69 points. The left winger's coming off a January in which he collected 13 goals and seven assists in 12 games.

D Damon Severson recorded an assist for Kelowna (WHL) on Saturday to extend his points streak to six games (2g-7a). It's the third points streak of five-or-more games since December (Dec. 8-15, 2g-9a; Dec. 27-Jan. 9, 1g-9a) for Severson, who's third among WHL blueliners with 42 points (8g-34a). His plus-35 is tied for 10th overall. Meanwhile, Kelowna has won 23 straight at home, one shy of the franchise record set in 1992-93, and six shy of the all-time WHL mark.

LW Ben Johnson posted nine points (7g-2a) in 11 games with Windsor (OHL) last month and added an assist Sunday for 14g-11a in 51 games.

LW Ben Thomson posted two assists for Kitchener (OHL) on Sunday to bring his season totals to 9g-12a in 50 games. His 94 penalty minutes are tied for eighth in the OHL.

C Graham Black had three goals, five assists for Swift Current (WHL) last month. He's third on the Broncos with 37 points (19g-18a).

D Reece Scarlett has points in seven of his last eight games for Swift Current, including a season-high six-game points streak from Jan. 12-30 (1g-8a). The Broncos' top-scoring defenseman (7g-26a-33pts) posted two goals and 11 assists in 11 January games.

G Scott Wedgewood made 37 saves in Trenton's (ECHL) 5-4 win over Florida on Friday. Wedgewood snapped a personal three-game losing streak to improve to 14-15-2-1 with a 3.37 goals-against average and .893 save percentage.
