Devils acquire D\'Agostini from St. Louis
The Devils on Friday acquired forward Matt D’Agostini and a conditional seventh-round selection in the 2015 NHL Draft from St. Louis in exchange for a conditional fifth-round choice in the 2015 draft. The announcement was made by Devils’ President/CEO/General Manager Lou Lamoriello.

D’Agostini, 26, will be available for Saturday's home game against Florida. He has one goal and one assist for two points and two penalty minutes in 16 games with St. Louis in 2012-13, after beginning the season with Riessersee SC (Ger.-2).

"He's a pure right wing, he's a scorer," Lamoriello said. "We feel comfortable that he can give us some strength on the right side. He has the ability to play third line, second line. He has the ability to go in those roles."

Now in his fifth NHL season, the 6-0, 200-lb. forward has career totals of 45 goals and 46 assists for 91 points and 115 penalty minutes in 254 regular-season appearances. In 2010-11, D’Agostini had career highs with 21 goals and 25 assists for 46 points and 40 penalty minutes while appearing in all 82 games.

"I'm excited," said Devils head coach Peter DeBoer. "Obviously, he's scored 20 goals in the NHL before. I coached against him when he was in junior when he played for (Devils assistant coach) Dave Barr in Guelph a little bit, so we've got some familiarity with his game and I think he'll fit in well here."

Born October 23, 1986 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., he was previously acquired from Montreal on March 2, 2010 after four seasons with the Canadiens’ organization. He was Montreal’s fifth choice (sixth round) and 190th overall selection in the 2005 draft. D’Agostini played two seasons of junior hockey with Guelph (OHL).

"He's a hard-working guy, he's a good guy," said Tom Kostopoulos, who was D'Agostini's teammate in Montreal. "He'll get along with everyone and bring that offensive element, I think"
