Boucher, Merrill hit the ice with Albany

F Reid Boucher scored a goal and added two assists Saturday in his season debut with Albany. Boucher, who tallied a club-record 62 goals for Sarnia (OHL) this season, inked an amateur tryout agreement with the Devils' top affiliate on Friday.
D Jon Merrill recorded an assist Friday in his AHL debut vs. Hershey, then recorded two more helpers Saturday against Portland. Merrill also signed an amateur tryout with Albany on Friday.
G Maxime Clermont and the Elmira Jackals will face the Florida Everblades in their opening round ECHL playoff series. Game 1 is Friday in Florida. Clermont posted a 20-13-3-2 mark for Elmira this season with a 3.24 goals-against average and .899 save percentage.
G Scott Wedgewood and the Trenton Titans saw their season come to an end after finishing eight points out of a playoff spot. Wedgewood's regular-season numbers included a record of 20-22-3-2 with a 3.22 goals-against average and .900 save percentage.
C Artur Gavrus has the Owen Sound Attack headed for the second round.
Gavrus' goal at 16:37 of the third period held up as the Game 6 winner, lifting the Attack to a 4-3 victory over Sault Ste. Marie on Sunday. Owen Sound captured the series four games to two, with Gavrus collecting two goals and three assists. The Attack opens the second round Friday in Plymouth.
LW Ben Thomson and the Kitchener Rangers have advanced to face the London Knights. Thomson posted one goal in the first round, helping the Rangers eliminate Guelph in five games. Round 2 for Kitchener starts Friday in London.
LW Stefan Matteau and Blainville-Boisbriand ousted Acadie-Bathurst in five games and await their second-round opponent. Matteau contributed a power-play goal and two assists for the Armada through the first three games of the series.
D Damon Severson and the Kelowna Rockets stayed alive in their series against Seattle with a 4-3 win in Saturday's Game 5. Severson posted a power-play assist in the pivotal contest, bringing his playoff totals to one goal and four assists through five games. Game 6 is Tuesday in Seattle.
A pair of Devils prospects – C Graham Black and D Reece Scarlett – saw their season end with the Swift Current Broncos' elimination from the WHL playoffs. The Broncos fell, 3-1, to Calgary on Thursday, dropping the series four games to one.
Black had four points, including a goal and two assists on the power play, while Scarlett chipped in with three helpers.
LW Blake Coleman notched a goal and two assists for Miami University in the NCAA tournament before the CCHA champions bowed out to St. Cloud with a 4-1 loss in Sunday's Midwest Regional Final.
Coleman registered two helpers Saturday, when Miami blanked Minnesota State, 4-0. He connected on the power play for the RedHawks' lone goal on Sunday. Miami made their first trip to the Round of Eight since 2010, when they reached the Frozen Four.
St. Cloud will take on Quinnipiac in the Frozen Four.
D Joe Faust and the Wisconsin Badgers were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament with a 6-1 loss to UMass Lowell in Friday's Northeast Regional.
UMass Lowell advanced to a Frozen Four matchup with Yale, which upended F Derek Rodwell and the University of North Dakota on Saturday.
