Brodeur joins CBC\'s Hockey Night in Canada

CBC’S Hockey Night in Canada today announced the addition of three-time Stanley Cup champion Martin Brodeur to the Studio 42 broadcast team as a guest analyst starting with Game 4 of the Ottawa / Pittsburgh series on Wednesday.

“I am thrilled to join the esteemed team of broadcasters at Hockey Night in Canada, and look forward to sharing my insight and perspective with viewers,” Brodeur said.

Brodeur (@MartinBrodeur) joins the all-star lineup of Ron MacLean, P.J. Stock, Elliotte Friedman, Glenn Healy, Kevin Weekes and Andi Petrillo in-studio between periods adding further analysis to CBC’s playoff broadcasts.

“With so much playoff experience and success, Martin brings an extra layer of insight and expertise to our already stellar team,” said Trevor Pilling, head of sports programming, CBC. “He’s a future Hall of Famer and our viewers will no doubt benefit from his experience and playoff wisdom. He adds a new point of view to the broadcast and we’re excited to have him as part of the Hockey Night in Canada family.”

Brodeur is one of the greatest goaltenders of all-time. Over his career he has won the Vezina Trophy as the league’s top goalie four times and was awarded the Jennings Trophy five times for least goals against during the regular season. Brodeur won the Calder Trophy as the league’s rookie of the year in 1994 and since has been named to three NHL All-Star Teams, four NHL Second All-Star Teams and has participated in 10 NHL All-Star Games.

Brodeur also holds several NHL all-time records, including: most wins (669); most regular season shut-out wins (121); most playoff shut-out wins (24); most wins in a single season (48); most consecutive 30-win seasons (12); most consecutive 35-win seasons (11); most 40-win seasons (8) and most consecutive 40-win seasons (3).
