Devils re-sign Dainius Zubrus
Zubrus will enter his seventh year with the Devils and 17th NHL season overall. He was limited to 22 games last season due to injury, while posting two goals and seven assists for nine points.
The 6-5, 225-lb. winger has scored 70 goals and 118 assists for 188 points in 398 games with New Jersey. He was originally signed as a free agent by the Devils on July 3, 2007.
Born June 16, 1978 in Elektrenai, Lithuania, he has career totals of 208 goals and 340 assists for 548 points and 683 penalty minutes in 1,087 regular-season appearances with Philadelphia, Montreal, Washington, Buffalo and New Jersey.
He has added 11 goals and 24 assists in 92 career playoff games, 41 of which spent as a member of the Devils (4g-9a-13pts). Zubrus was Philadelphia’s first choice and 15th overall selection in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft after playing junior hockey with Pembroke (CJHL) and Caledon (MTJHL). He has represented both Russia (2004 World Cup) and Lithuania (2005 World Championships-Group B) in international competition.
