Salvador, Schneider placed on IR
Salvador, who has missed two games due to personal reasons, goes on IR retroactive to Tuesday's game in Columbus. He blocked a shot in the third period against the Blue Jackets and an MRI revealed a non-displaced stress fracture in his foot.
"When he came back from his personal situation, his foot was still sore," Lamoriello said. "It's just going to be time. It could be a week, could be ten days, it's just time."
Eric Gelinas, who was assigned to Albany (AHL) on Sunday, has been recalled. He notched his first NHL goal Thursday against Vancouver and has points in back-to-back games (1g-1a).
Schneider (lower body) did not travel to Boston for Saturday's 4-3 comeback win over the Bruins. He's on IR retroactive to Thursday's game against the Canucks.
"Cory is still a little sore so we're not going to take any chances," Lamoriello said.
Keith Kinkaid backed up Martin Brodeur in Boston and was assigned to Albany on Sunday. He practiced Monday with the Devils' top affiliate and was set to be recalled to New Jersey on Tuesday, when the Devils host Tampa Bay.
Goaltending coach Chris Terreri put on the pads and filled in as the other goalie at today's practice.
