NEWARK, N.J. -- New Jersey Devils goalie Martin Brodeur will start consecutive games for the first time this season when he steps between the pipes to face the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday at Prudential Center (7:30 p.m. ET, NBCSN, TSN2).

Brodeur, who earned his first win of the season on Saturday against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden, is 1-2-2 with a 3.32 goals-against average and .871 save percentage in five appearances. The 41-year-old is just hoping to establish some confidence and rhythm in goal as the Devils seek their first two-game winning streak of the season.

"The expectation on Marty is always pretty high," Devils coach Peter DeBoer said. "The bar is pretty high with him, but I'm not worried about Marty. I'm worried about building our team game."

The Devils (2-5-4) currently sit sixth in the Metropolitan Division and 12th in the Eastern Conference with eight points. After scoring one power-play goal in the first six games of the season, the team has struck for eight in the past five. The Devils scored four power-play goals on seven attempts on Saturday to rally for a 4-3 victory over the Boston Bruins at TD Garden.

"I don't think it's realistic to go 4-for-[7] every night, but it wasn't just one night," DeBoer said. "We've had a power-play goal in five straight games and we're playing with confidence. We have a shoot mentality rather than making that extra pass. We want to keep that rolling."

How have the Devils been able to draw more penalties of late?

"We've been more aggressive in our mindset, getting the puck in other team's end and forechecking as a five-man unit," DeBoer said. "We're attacking, and when you're not doing that it's tougher to draw penalties."

Keith Kinkaid will serve as Brodeur's backup against the Lightning after Cory Schneider (lower body) was placed on injured reserve on Monday. Devils coach Peter DeBoer said Schneider, who is eligible to be activated Friday, could return to the lineup Saturday when New Jersey hosts the Philadelphia Flyers.

Devils captain Bryce Salvador (foot) will also miss his third straight game after being placed on injured reserve and might also make his return on Saturday against the Flyers. Salvador's absence will give rookie defenseman Eric Gelinas another opportunity to further impress the coaching staff.

Gelinas has done nothing to disappoint anyone in the organization in his two games this season. The 22-year-old has a goal, two points and four hits while averaging 18:12 of ice time.
