Zajac OK after rolling ankle in practice
Expects to play Saturday against Flyers
Travis Zajac expects to be ready for Saturday's home meeting with the Flyers after rolling his right ankle at practice on Friday.
"I took a little tumble," a smiling Zajac said afterward. "I think it's just precaution [leaving practice]. I should be all right for [Saturday]."
He fell, but never gave up on the play.
"I think I kept the puck alive, though, which is the most important thing," Zajac joked.
Head coach Peter DeBoer didn't see it happen, but was relieved the injury wasn't more serious.
"It's kind of a fluky thing," he said. "He just rolled it a little bit. I think he'll be fine."
In 12 games this season Zajac has one goal, four points and a minus-5 rating. He missed all but 15 regular-season games in 2011-12 after tearing his left Achilles tendon that summer; in 75 regular-season games since returning from the Achilles injury, Zajac has 10 goals and 30 points.
Schneider sustained a lower-body injury Oct. 24 and has missed the last two games. If available, he could wind up splitting the weekend back-to-back that ends Sunday in Minnesota.
