The Czech Republic closed out the preliminary round of the IIHF World Championship with a comeback to remember.

Jaromir Jagr scored one of three second-period goals for the Czechs, who erased a 3-0 deficit en route to a 5-4 overtime victory over France on Tuesday.

Jan Kolar won it for the Czech Republic at 2:36 of the extra session, setting up a quarterfinal matchup with the United States on Thursday.

NBCSN will broadcast the game on a 30-minute tape delay at 9:30 a.m. ET. Live streaming coverage will begin at 9 a.m. on stream.nbcsports.com.

Jagr’s tally – his team-leading fourth of the tournament – completed the rally by tying the contest, 3-3, at 11:29 of the second. He was later denied by French netminder Florian Hardy on a penalty shot at 16:15.

The Czechs blew a 4-3 lead in the third period when Antoine Roussel scored at 2:36 to even the score at 4.

Jagr leads the Czechs with seven points (4g-3a) in seven games and finished the prelim round on a five-game point streak (3g-3a).

In Tuesday's other games, Peter DeBoer and Canada secured the top spot in Group A with a 3-2 win over Norway and will face Finland in the quarters.

Damien Brunner and Switzerland failed to advance but ended the tournament on a high note, defeating Latvia, 3-2. Brunner opened the scoring with his third goal and finished second on the Swiss squad with six points (3g-3a) in seven games.

Raman Hrabarenka and host Belarus dropped their preliminary-round finale to Russia, 2-1, but still earned a fourth-place finish in Group B and a quarterfinal meeting with defending champion Sweden.

Hrabarenka has two assists and is plus-5 through seven games.
