Officially became chairman/managing partner of New Jersey Devils June 2004; previously served as a member of the Devils’ ownership group since summer 2000…Prior to joining the Devils, enjoyed a 24-year career on Wall Street, the last 21 years with Lehman Brothers…Served in the office of the chairman since June 2002, where he was head of global risk management, private equity, and strategy for Lehman Brothers Holdings, Inc…Named head of the capital markets division in 2000, and head of the global fixed income division in June 1996…In May 1993, was promoted to the position of chief operating officer of the fixed income government department, and in June of that same year, COO of the fixed income derivative department…Joined Lehman Brothers in February 1984 as managing director and COO of the fixed income central funding department…Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, worked for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette…A Devils’ season ticket holder for more than 19 seasons…Is President of Devils Renaissance Development, LLC, and Devils Arena Entertainment, LLC, and is the driving force behind Prudential Center, the team’s new arena in Newark…Serves as chairman/managing partner of Lowell Devils (AHL), Trenton Devils (ECHL), as well as indoor soccer’s New Jersey Ironmen…Received bachelor of science degree from Bloomfield College (NJ)…Member of the Executive Committees for the Boston College Wall Street Council, as well as the Opportunity Newark Project…Serves as chairman of Newark Public Library, and vice chairman of the Dorothy Rodbell Cohen Foundation for Cancer Research…Is a member of the board of the Newark Alliance, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Newark…Served as 2006 campaign chairman, as well as 2007 co-chairman, Greater Newark Holiday Fund…Along with his wife, Debbie, was recipient of the 2007 Dr. John J. McMullen Service to New Jersey Hockey Award…Devotes much of his time to youth sports organizations throughout New Jersey…The Vanderbeeks reside in Warren, NJ with their three children: son Rem (21), and daughters McKenna (18) and Rhiannon (14).
