HIGH SCHOOL PLAYERS OF THE YEAR NAMED
Delbarton’s Velischek, Morristown-Beard’s Bayersdorfer selected
Newark, NJ – The Devils continue to honor the state’s top high school student-athletes with the selection of the Players of the Year.  Senior defenseman Alex Velischek of Delbarton School was named the boys’ Player of the Year, while sophomore forward Sarah Bayersdorfer of Morristown-Beard is the girls’ Player of the Year.

The Devils are honoring Velischek for the second time, having previously been named to the 2009 Non-Public All-Tournament Team.  Velischek becomes the third Delbarton School student to be honored in the 17-year history of the award, joining Ned Crotty (2004-05) and Charles Nerbak (2007-08).

Bayersdorfer is the third Morristown-Beard student to be honored in the five-year history of the award, joining Brittany Doyle (2005-06) and Megan Winters (2007-08).

Award winners and their guests receive tickets to a Devils' game, a plaque presented by a Devils' player, and dinner, compliments of the Devils.  This marks the 17th season that the Devils have honored high school student-athletes.
