GAME: Boston Bruins (8-12-5) at New Jersey Devils (11-9-2).

TIME: Tuesday, 7:30 p.m. EST.

The New Jersey Devils will try to win three straight games for the first time this season when they face the struggling Boston Bruins at Continental Airlines Arena.

New Jersey last won three in a row during a four-game winning streak from March 26-April 3, 2004, a run it completed with a 5-2 victory at Boston.

Although Boston is struggling with just one win in its last nine games (1-7-1), it is 2-0-1 in its last three visits to New Jersey. The Bruins haven't lost at Continental Airlines Arena since Feb. 21, 2003.

The Devils should be filled with confidence after they recorded a very impressive pair of wins in Florida.

New Jersey coasted to a 5-1 victory over the Panthers on Wednesday, then followed that with an 8-2 rout of Tampa Bay on Friday.

Viktor Kozlov had a goal and four assists on Friday, helping the Devils to their largest offensive output since an 8-2 win over Buffalo on Feb. 25, 2004.

The Devils went 1-for-4 on the power play against Tampa Bay, marking the fourth straight game they have scored at least once with the man advantage. They have 18 power-play goals in the last 13 games and rank third in the NHL in that category.

"The last couple of weeks you've seen this team starting to turn the corner," right wing Alexander Mogilny said. "It feels good to see us playing like we know we can."

One of the hottest Devils is right wing Brian Gionta, who has goals in four straight games with five total in that span. He has nine points in his last four contests.

The Bruins, 1-5-4 in their last 10 road games, are coming off a 4-2 loss at Ottawa on Saturday.

Brad Isbister and Nick Boynton scored for Boston, which was outshot 40-24 and allowed multiple power-play goals for the second straight game and eighth time this season.

"We make it hard on ourselves in certain situations," Bruins coach Mike Sullivan said. "We've got opportunities to advance the puck and move the puck, simple options, short options, and we're looking for the better play and it's cost us. You combine that with some avoidable penalties against a team like this, that has a potent power play, and it's tough to win."

Joe Thornton assisted on Boynton's goal to extend his points streak to five games.

Thornton has 30 points in 26 career regular-season games against the Devils, including seven in the last three meetings.
