GAME: Calgary Flames (16-9-3) at New Jersey Devils (13-11-2).

TIME: Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. EST.

The New Jersey Devils will have Martin Brodeur back in goal as they try to extend a four-game home winning streak in their only matchup this season with the Calgary Flames.

With games on consecutive nights, the Devils decided to give backup Scott Clemmensen his first start in almost a month at Detroit on Tuesday.

New Jersey didn't give its goaltender much support as it yielded a season-high 44 shots in a 5-2 loss.

Devils assistant coach John MacLean was in charge for a second straight game with Larry Robinson still suffering from a severe throat and lymph node infection.

"He made some big saves out there," MacLean said of Clemmensen. "You can't really fault him on any of the goals. He played well. We had chances of our own."

Brodeur, who had started the last 10 games, is scheduled to start Wednesday, looking to win for the fifth time in six starts. He is 5-3-3 with a 1.96 goals-against average in 11 career starts against the Flames.

Viktor Kozlov and rookie Zach Parise scored for the Devils, who had won four of five before Tuesday.

New Jersey has won four straight at home, three by one goal and the other by two with an empty-net goal.

Calgary opened its four-game road trip with one-goal victories over Detroit and Pittsburgh before losing 1-0 in a shootout Tuesday to Philadelphia.

Kristian Huselius, Jarome Iginla and Tony Amonte failed to convert in the shootout, and Miikka Kiprusoff's lone blemish was allowing a goal in the first round of the shootout by Mike Richards after making 37 saves in regulation and overtime.

The Flames, shut out in two of their last four games, have gained at least one point in six of their last seven road contests (4-1-2).

Calgary has played well lately despite little production from Iginla, who has gone nine straight games without a goal. The Flames captain, however, has had his share of opportunities, registering 37 shots on goal during that span.

Although he took the loss Tuesday, Kiprusoff has been excellent lately. He has allowed two goals or fewer in each of his last six games.
