UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) -- New York Islanders forward Mark Parrish is on a roll.

Parrish scored two goals in the Islanders' 3-1 victory Monday night over the New Jersey Devils, giving him five in three games and 13 this season.

"Goal scorers score in bunches," Islanders coach Steve Stirling said. "I just hope he has a few more bunches in him."

The Islanders won their fifth straight overall, their seventh consecutive at home, and their third in a row over the Stanley Cup champion Devils. The teams met four times within 19 days and New York won three of the matchups.

"It felt like a seven-game series," Devils forward John Madden said. "I'm glad it's over. I just wish it went out on a winning note."

Parrish scored twice for the second straight game and has a three-game goal streak, one short of his career high.

"Maybe I'm getting the puck a little more and getting a few more shots," Parrish said. "But my job is to get in front of the net and screen, first and foremost. If I get a tip or two, great."

Kenny Jonsson also scored for New York, which got 28 saves from Garth Snow. Snow was playing his 11th straight game.

Grant Marshall had the only goal for New Jersey, which had a five-game point streak snapped (3-1-1-1). Martin Brodeur stopped 21 shots.

New York is 9-2-0-1 since a seven-game losing streak and 3-0-0-1 against New Jersey in that stretch. The Islanders beat the Devils in overtime at New Jersey on Friday.

"They're playing real well," Devils coach Pat Burns said. "We had our chances tonight, though. Snow made some big saves."

It is New York's longest home-winning streak since the Islanders took seven straight from Oct. 30 to Nov. 24, 1984.

The Islanders fired the first six shots of the game at Brodeur, and 10 of the first 12. The only one to reach the net was the fourth shot, when Parrish scored his 12th goal during a power play at 6:31.

With one second left on a cross-checking penalty to Colin White, Parrish stood in the crease. As he was being knocked down by Scott Niedermayer, Parrish managed to tip a slap pass from Roman Hamrlik past Brodeur.

"Hammer gave me the pass in the only spot I had a chance to tip it," Parrish said.

New Jersey tied it on Marshall's tip-in at 7:34 of the second period off a rush and a cross-ice feed from Sergei Brylin.

Jonsson put New York back in front at 11:18 when he kept the Devils' clearing attempt in at the left point and sent a wrist shot past Brodeur.

Parrish made it 3-1 with 51.7 seconds left in the period when he beat Brodeur between the pads with a sharp angle wrist shot from the left side.

"It wasn't a hard shot, but it was a tricky shot," Brodeur said. "That's one I'd like to have back, for sure."

Stirling said that the Islanders' current run is a result of the team simply coming together. They are 4-0 since Alexei Yashin partially severed tendons in his wrist when Philadelphia's Michal Handzus stepped on him.

"We're finishing our checks better than we ever had," Stirling said. "We're also playing 60 minutes now. Winning is a positive addiction. Everyone in our locker room is feeling good whether they're playing two or 20 minutes."
